A three-day, music festival at The Ashokan Center in Olivebridge, the Winter Hoot is a down-home, down-to-earth, music gathering where everyone is welcome and there’s joy to spare!

This year’s Winter Hoot will feature exciting new work from local artists, plus music guaranteed to get you on the dance floor.

Spirit Family Reunion, with high-energy old-time, gospel-infused folk that’s sure to get the audience on their feet

Tracy Bonham’s As The Crow Flies, a musical “storybook” experience for all ages, featuring Bonham and friends on vocals and instrumentals

Americana quintet The Mammals, fronted by Hoot co-founders and hosts Mike Merenda and Ruthy Ungar, debuting music from their upcoming new album Sunshiner

New country-inspired music from Catskills dweller, guitarist and singer-songwriter Connor Kennedy

Folk masters and long-time Ashokan advocates Jay Ungar & Molly Mason serving up fiddle favorites

Anna & Elizabeth, a harmony-rich folk duo who are single-handedly resurrecting the “crankies”—illustrated, hand-cranked scrolls that depict songs and stories

Uncle Rock, all-ages rock from Robert Burke Warren

and kick up your heels and do-si-do your partner at the square dance with Little Leatherwood (feat. Stephanie Coleman & Nora Brown) and caller Megan Downes!

Plus:
Local food, beer, and wine vendors // Arts and crafts with FiberFlame // Blacksmithing // Kids’ activities in the Kids Zone // Intimate Pewter Sessions concerts in the Pewter Shop // A Friday evening documentary screening and discussion // A daytime square dance for all ages, plus a rowdy late-night dance // And the Holler at the Hoot, a recorded open mic session!

The 5th Annual Summer Hoot at Ashokan was held Aug 25-27, featuring a full weekend of world-class live music, local food beer, cider, crafts, jamming, singalongs, hiking, black-smithing, square dancing, activities for all ages and memories to last a lifetime. All proceeds benefit our work here at The Ashokan Center!
