All of our events are located at The Ashokan Center in Olivebridge. See map and directions below. With at least four weeks notice we can help you contact others who may be driving to Ashokan and may want to car pool or we may be able to coordinate taxi rides from the Kingston bus station or the airport.

Directions for Cars

Take NY State Thruway (1-87) to Kingston exit #19. Leave traffic circle on Route 28 West (toward Pine Hill). In 12 miles (just past Winchell’s Pizza on left) turn left onto Reservoir Rd. Cross the Ashokan Reservoir, turn left at “T”. Bear right down the hill past the first left turn (Rt 28A East) and merge onto 28A West. Go 1/4 mile & turn left onto Beaverkill Road. Go 1 mile then turn right into the the Ashokan Center driveway & follow signs.

Directions by Bus and Taxi

Trailways buses stop at Kingston, and it’s about 25 minutes to Ashokan from the Kingston Bus Station, 400 Washington Avenue. We can provide a taxi at 2:40pm from the bus station for those who’ve reserved space with our office at least three weeks in advance. If you haven’t reserved by then or you’re arriving at a different time, you can arrange for a taxi at your own expense. We use Kingston Kabs, 845-331-8294.

Directions by Air

Albany International is the closest major airport, about 1.5 hours/75 miles from camp. It is smaller & less congested than NYC airports. You can take a bus or taxi to the Albany bus station then a bus to Kingston & a taxi to Ashokan (then follow directions above). A bus leaves Albany at 1:30pm & arrives in Kingston at 2:35pm. There are also a limited number of buses that go directly from Albany Airport to the Kingston bus station. The Albany bus station is at 34 Hamilton Street and their number is 518-436-9651.

Stewart Airport in Newbergh is about 1 hour/50 miles from camp. It’s a little closer than the Albany airport, but it is smaller and has less flights. Info about airlines & ground transportation options (including taxi and bus) can be found here. There’s a connecting bus from Newburgh to Kingston via the Shortline Bus Station, located at 60 Route 17k. Their number is 845-561-0734.

Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ is about 2.5 hours/115 miles from camp. It is the furthest from camp of the 3 airports, but is the largest and has the most flights. Info about airlines & ground transportation options, (including taxi & bus service) can be found here. From the airport take ground transportation to the Port Authority Bus terminal in Manhattan and then take a Trailways bus to Kingston, following the bus/taxi directions above.
